When you live in Tamraght, you get to know every alleyway, every café, every hidden corner. After years of welcoming guests to Malibu Surf House, we always get asked the same questions: "Where should we eat? Where's the best coffee? What shouldn't we miss?"
Here's our honest, personal guide — the addresses we share with our guests, the places we go ourselves, and a few hidden gems we're happy to pass on.
☕ Coffee
Daydream Home Goods
Calm atmosphere, beautiful interiors, excellent coffee. The kind of place you sit down for an hour and stay for three.
Hey Yallah
One of the village's must-visit spots. Young, lively, with a great selection of drinks and an energy that keeps drawing you back.
Surf and Friends Cafe
The surfer's café. You'll find everyone here — locals, travellers, coaches between sessions. The kind of place where mornings start well.
The Laundry — Coffee & Stuff
The name intrigues, the place surprises. Quality coffee in an original, laid-back setting. A genuine favourite of ours.
🍽️ Where to Eat
Mish Mish — Brunch all day
Our top brunch recommendation. Generous plates, beautiful setting, and the luxury of being able to brunch at any hour of the day. A Tamraght essential.
Zaz Restaurant — Must try: the Rfissa
If you only try one traditional Moroccan dish during your stay, order the Rfissa here. Simple, generous, and authentically delicious.
Man'ouché — La cuisine des voyages
Levantine street food made with care. Crispy, generously topped man'ouchés that make for a welcome change from tajine days.
U Wood Love — Best pizza in Tamraght
Yes, pizza in Morocco — and it's genuinely good. Delivery available if you'd rather eat on the rooftop with a view.
Ohana Poké, Burgers & Vitamine Bar
For lighter days: poké bowls, burgers, fresh juices. A great option when you want something clean and energising after a long surf session.
Green Point — Open late
Salads, burgers, healthy plates — and crucially, open late when everywhere else has closed. A lifesaver for late evening hunger.
Machi Mouchkil Street Food
Local street food in the best sense of the word. Fast, good, and completely authentic.
Station Service Afriquia — The surprise
We know — it sounds strange. But the tajine at the petrol station is, against all odds, really very good. It's become a running joke with our guests, and yet everyone goes back for more.
World of Waves Restaurant — Eat by the ocean
For a dinner with waves as your backdrop. The setting does all the talking.
Munga's Kitchen — Bar, restaurant, music
A Taghazout institution. Lively evenings, great food, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Perfect for a proper night out.
Dfrost Almugar SEASIDE— Live music Friday and Sunday
If you're here on a Friday or Sunday evening, don't miss the live music nights. The atmosphere is something else entirely.
For vegetarians and vegans:
Red Clay Cafe (Taghazout), Let's Be Healing Food, and Ohana Poké are your best bets — all excellent options with genuine plant-based menus.
🧘 Yoga
Kalananda Yoga Studio
A yoga shala set in a garden — one of the most peaceful spots in the area. Classes for all levels, with a genuine focus on practice over performance.
Ocean Tribe
Yoga by the ocean. There's not much else to say — it's exactly as beautiful as it sounds.
💅 Wellness
Adela Tamraght — Nails, Headspa & More
Our current wellness favourite. We especially recommend the Head Spa — it's an experience in itself, and the perfect way to unwind after a week of surf. Trust us on this one.
🛍️ Shopping
Bab Taghzout
For bringing something home without falling into the tourist trap. The selection is carefully curated and genuinely worth a browse.
Kasbat Souss — In Agadir
If you make a trip to Agadir, this covered market is unmissable for spices, textiles, and local products. Go with an empty bag and an open mind.
👀 Not to Miss
Souk Al Had
Agadir's giant market — huge, colourful, and completely alive. Worth doing at least once.
Paradise Valley
A palm grove nestled in the mountains about an hour from Tamraght. Natural pools, waterfalls, and absolute tranquillity. The perfect day off between surf sessions.
Timlaline Sand Dunes — 45 minutes away
Go for sunset. The dunes at golden hour, with the option to try sandboarding or a camel ride, is one of those experiences that stays with you long after you leave.
International Taghazout Skatepark
You don't have to skate — just come and watch. At sunset, with skaters pulling tricks and the ocean in the background, it's pure spectacle. Free, and completely unforgettable.
🍦 Guilty Pleasures
Surf'Ice
Post-session ice cream. No further explanation needed.
Sozi Cookies
Cookies so good they should come with a warning. You've been told.
